Will Chesebro
Will Chesebro is a native of Kenmore but has moved around the United States, also living in Minnesota, Massachusetts, and Florida.
He is a 2004 graduate of Bishop Kenny High School in Jacksonville, where he starred in a variety of sports including cross country, track and field, soccer, tennis and basketball. He’s also an avid snowboarder.
Chesebro went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Rochester, graduating in 2008 after competing collegiately in cross country and track.
He had an earlier stint coaching at St. Joe’s before spending time running the track program at Tonawanda High School. The position at St. Joe’s opened up again when former coach Matt Dow was promoted to Director of Running, and Chesebro returned as head coach for the Marauders track team. He also helps out as an assistant coach with the indoor track and cross country teams.
Comment: “I taught here for three years before returning to coach. Coming back has been a dream – the overall maturity, focus, and drive of St. Joe's athletes is astounding, and makes coaching smoother. The culture of brotherhood is real, too – witnessing upperclassmen coaching and supporting the underclassman and each other without prompting is truly unique and is an indispensable ingredient for greatness.”
