Gabe Michael
Gabe Michael is a Buffalo native and a member of the Canisius High School graduating class of 1998, where he played football and basketball.
He went on to attend Xavier University and graduated in 2004 and then earned his Masters degree in sports administration from Canisius College in 2012.
Michael spent seven years coaching college basketball at Division I and Division III schools, including Canisius College and Medaille College. He was part of several championship seasons including two NCAA Tournament appearances with the Medaille program. He joined the D1 Canisius program in 2010.
He spent six years as the boys head varsity coach at Williamsville South High School before coming to St. Joe’s in 2018.
In each of his three years with the Marauders, St. Joe’s has shown improvement – culminated by a strong 2021 season that saw the team finish 16-1 and as the top-ranked large school in Western New York and second in the state. They won the Manhattan Cup as the Monsignor Martin Athletic Association’s playoff champion for the first time since 2008 after racking up their first regular season championship since 2011.
