Ryan Ficorilli '97
Ryan Ficorilli is a native of Grand Island and is a member of the St. Joe’s graduating class of 1997, where he was a captain on both the rowing and football teams.
He was a 2001 graduate of Columbia University, where he again was captain of the rowing team and he also rowed at Brock University two years later.
He has gone on to coach rowing at the high school and collegiate levels and also has coached football and travel softball.
When the opportunity to coach at St. Joe’s presented itself in 2019, he jumped on it. They lost the 2020 season because of the COVID-19 pandemic but rebounded in a big way in 2021 by finishing third at nationals and winning the Charles Fontana All-High Regatta.
Comment: “Throughout my rowing career, I've been fortunate to have the opportunity to work with some of the finest athletes in the world, including those training for National Teams and World Titles. However, my experience coaching at St. Joe's stands above them all and truly has been a blessing in my life. I am fully supported by our administration while guiding some of the most talented and hard-working student-athletes in the country. I am proud to lead Marauder Rowing and am anxious to see these rowers take this team to levels of success our school has never seen before.”
